Spotlight on... NPQLTD
Delivered in partnership with the Teacher Development Trust (TDT).
What's in it for me?
The NPQ in Leading Teacher Development is ideal for anyone who has - or aspires to have - responsibility for leading the development of other teachers: such as ITT or ECT mentors, phase or subject leaders, or leaders of CPD.
The course covers themes including designing and delivering effective professional development; how to make evidence-informed professional development decisions; and techniques for tailoring and adapting support based on individual development needs.
Facilitation and support are provided by serving school leaders and the Julian Teaching School Hub, guiding you to strengthen your expertise as a leader, helping you to support teachers in your school to expand their skills.
What's in it for my school?
Your school will gain a skilful and research-informed teacher development professional who can lead the golden thread of initial teacher training, early career development and ongoing professional learning, with the practical capability to get on with the job of developing others with the skills to lead people and teams, creating change and impact.
What does the course look like?
Why TDT?
We believe in TDT's core values and think they resonate with our own:
SMART: we think about what he evidence tells us, but we also really care about how things are done.
HEART: it's not just taking the evidence base and implementing it any old way; it needs to be done in the right way if you want to have that sustainable impact.
HUMBLE: we recognise that there is no single perfect answer to any situation - participants will come from different environments, different schools different contexts - and we need to understand the limits of what the evidence tells us at times and use our judgement.
