New PGCE information events

From our friends at UEA.

Do you want to be a teacher?

If you’ve ever considered a teaching career, UEA is holding information sessions where you can learn more about how to train to teach primary or secondary schoolchildren. The events will take place on UEA’s campus, and are open to anyone, whether you're still exploring your options or you’re ready to apply.

The PGCE Primary Teacher Training Information Session (3-11 years age range) is on Saturday 28 September from 9.30am-12.30.pm

The PGCE Secondary Teacher Training Information Session (11-16 years age range) is on Tuesday 15 October from 4-7pm.

A Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) will provide a solid foundation for your teaching career. UEA’s PGCE courses are also offered with 90 Master’s credits, which means that as well as graduating with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in England and Wales, you will gain credits towards a Master’s degree.

We work with schools across East Anglia, covering a wide geographical area from inner city to rural settings, enabling us to offer you a broad range of school placement opportunities.

The session will begin with an informative talk about the PGCE course at UEA. You’ll be able to speak to our subject tutors, current students and early career teachers. Members of the Admissions team will also be available to offer advice and answer your questions.

Sarah Woodall, who undertook her PGCE with UEA said,

I signed up to one of UEA’s information sessions when I was researching my teacher training options. I found the session to be really inspiring, it was great having the opportunity to talk to the specialist tutors and current teacher trainees, and it confirmed my decision to apply for the PGCE course. The event was also a great opportunity to ask questions about my application, to get support about gaining school experience, and to find out more about what day-to-day life as a teacher is really like.

Register your interest to attend on the UEA website or contact the PGCE Admissions Team.
