The ECT induction programme has been in the news this week, with announcements of the organisations awarded the contract to deliver the programme from September 2025 onwards (you can read about that below), as well as a rebrand and review. This article in Schoolsweek provides a useful overview.

You let us know of any changes by completing this form (you will need to complete the form separately for each change you wish to make). You can complete this form at any time throughout the year.
You have updated Manage Training for Early Career Teachers
You have let your Appropriate Body know.

Breaking news... The Julian TSH partners with Ambition Institute to deliver NPQs from spring 2025

The Julian TSH has agreed to a partnership with Ambition Institute to deliver their NPQs from spring 2024 onwards.

Having been an Ambition delivery partner on the ECT induction programme since the early roll-out in 2020, the Julian TSH team are excited to extend this to the NPQs after the withdrawal of TDT from the NPQ market.

We are excited that teachers graduating from the ECT induction programme will be able to seamlessly move onto studying NPQs via Ambition's learning platform, StepLab.

Spotlight on... Habit building

One of the things we've been thinking about recently in our work with early career teachers is the importance of habit-building - and it led us to revisit this blog from the EEF:

"Managing the limitations of the working memory is a challenge for teachers. When something becomes a habit, it frees up space in our working memories. Building in evidence-informed teaching habits can allow us to focus our delivery on what works for pupils; freeing up space to think more deeply about the learning that is taking place."

A message from Ambition Institute

"We are delighted to let you know that we have been successful in our bid to deliver the ECT programme from September 2025, for a further 4 years.

We are very pleased that our programme, which has so far reached 21,717 funded early career teachers and 18,638 funded mentors, has been re-awarded a contract."
